Response Question: Trip to Verplancks Point (pages 61-113)

Tim is very excited about making the trip to Verplancks Point with his father. Why is this trip symbolic for Tim? The trip does change Tim, but not in the ways he expected. How is Tim different after this experience?

Making the trip to Verplanks point was symbolic for Tim because Sam usually makes this trip with his father and Tim admires Sam.Even when Sam could not do it, his father took Tom Warrups because Tim was too young and immature. So the fact that Life took Sam made him feel like he is becoming a man. After this trip Tim is more cautious because of the "cowboys" trying to rob him and his father.

Tim traveling with his father to Verplancks Point was symbolic for Tim because it was a chance for Tim to do something important and something for Tim and his father to be proud of. In addition, it was symbolic for Tim because he had never been there before and wanted to experience the adventure. After the experience Tim had changed in many ways that he had noticed. One way is he notices that he is less lazier for work and does not stall time. Also, Tim plans ahead of the things he needs to do for the day and does not wait for his mother to tell him to do so. ^_^

The trip to Verplancks Point is symbolic for Tim because he felt more of a man now. It also gives Tim a chance to leave Connecticut and go into another colony and explore the new lands and see the rumors about how big and wonderful the rives were. Tim is different after this experience because Tim has grown up quickly from being attacked by the cowboys and see his father almost taken away from him.

Making the trip to Verplanks Point was symbolic to Tim because it means he is finally old enough to go on this trip with his father which he has been waiting for so long to do. Tim looks up to his brother Sam so for him to be able to go on a trip Sam usually goes on means the world to him. Going on this trip means to him that his dad thinks of him as a adult and this makes Tim feel good and proud of himself. This trip changes Tim in many ways because it makes him more aware and caucious of what he does because of the cowboy thieves that tried to rob him and his father.

Making the trip to verplanks was symbolic to tim for many reasons. one is because his brother sam usually takes this trip with his father and it makes tim feel like his father is now treating him like a man. Another reason is because tim has never been there before and it is a rush to go somewhere you've never been before. Tim becomes different after this experience because he is becoming less lazier and because hes become more watchful after him and his father were almost robed by "cowboys".

The trip is symbolic to Tim because Sam always went with his Father to Verplanks Point but making Tim go was an honor because to him it meant that he was following in Sam's footsteps which makes him excited because he admires Sam very much. He doesnt slack off when he needs to do tasks rather he gets it done beofore his mom says so. Last but not least, time doesnt waist time anymore, instead he gets what he needs to get done.
