Response Question: the Redcoats arrive (p. 113-164)

Tim says to a British solider, "We're mostly Tories here." He then continues to himself, "Suddenly I realized that I was. Father's capture had done that." Why do you think Tim's opinion about the war has changed? By the next page (p. 140), Tim says he is full of mixed emotions. What are some of the things that Tim sees that make him feel so confused?

Tim's opinions about the war has changed, because Tim is experiencing a lot of change around him. Tim's life had turned around at this point. Tim had just lost his father and now he has to do all these jobs in the tavern and that is very tiring. Tim had never seen a soldier before in his life, so seeing an awfully lots of soldiers confused him. Tim is probably still confused on what side of the war he should be on. (*_^)

Tim's opinion on the war changed because Tim is realizing that their has been a lot of change going on that he has been seeing. The main thing that changed for Tim was that he was know the man of the house because his father was no longer with them and Sam was in war. Also, Tim became very tired because he was doing a whole lot of work in the tavern because he was the only one that could do them. In a way Tim is also more confused about the war because know he doesn't really know what side he should be on. So right know Tim is having a lot of emotions threw this section of the book.

Tim's opinion had changed because his father was captured. Tim supposedly calls himself a Tory, but his opinions are disorganized. Tim sees at first when the British marched about, how he had admire them, but when they took Jerry Standford, that changed his mind about them. Tim still doesn't know which side to choose, to either join his brother or his father. The things that happened around his society is also confusing him. =)

Tim's feelings about the war has changed because he has noticed so many things have changed. One thing was that by his father not being with them he had to do all the work around the tavern without any help because his father wasn't there and Sam was fighting in the war. Also Tim doesn't know what side of the war he wants to be on he considers himself a Tori but right know I don't think Tim know's what he is and is very confused.

Tim is confused and mixed of many emotions because his father died and he has to take most of his responsibilities. He does work around the tavern and he seen soldiers before but he never came to approach them or talk to them. Tim doesn't know a lot about the war or what side to be on because he seen his dad supporting one side and Sam supporting another so he is confused.

Tim's opinions on the war changed , because he notice eveything wasn't really what it seemed. Tim had to realize that he had to grow up and be a man because his father wasn't their anymore. I felt sorry because he had to do lot of house work. I hope he feels better on the in sight of the war.

I think that Tims opinion about the war has suddenly changed because Tims father Mr.Meeker is either held hostage or killed because Sam has chosen to fight as a Tory in the War which maybe why they thought Mr. meeker was a Tory as well. Tim sees many things during this time in the book. First he saw Redcoats kill a few of the Tories nearby causing him to vomit and cry. Also he saw a person die right in front of his face. There is alot of drama going on for Tim at his very young age.

Tim's opinion about the war has changed because Tim is starting to see that a lot has changed. One of the biggest changest was that Tim was know the man of the house cause his father was not there and Sam was in the war. Also because of the fact that Tim was really getting tired of doing all the around the tavern but he had to cause he was the only one that could do it. Tim is confused about the war because he don't know what side he should be on.

Tim's opinion about the war has definitely changed because he doesn't know what to think after the tragedy of losing his dear father and working even harder twice as before around the tavern. Not to mention, Tim is sooo confused on which side should he be. You can really notice how his emotions change from maybe fascination to confusion or excited to sad.

Timis so confused because his opinions are all in disarray. He admires the British. He loves how blunt they are, how completely professional. However, with his father's capture and seeing his friend Jerry killed, and other Tories, his opinion has changed. He knows he doesn't want to admire a group so awful and responsible for the demise of his father.
