From the title of the novel, we knew this was coming, but Sam does not die until the end of the novel. How and why does Sam die? How is his death ironic? Does this situation change your opinions about war at all, particularly the Revolutionary War?

Sam got executed because when he snuck home he and Tim discovered that somebody was stealing their cattle. So Sam went to chase the thieves and they captured him and blamed the stealing on him. As an result, Sam was shot as an example. His death is ironic because he is killed by his own army, the people he've been fighting with for a couple of years. Nevertheless, this does not change my opinions the Revolutionary War. I feel it was necessary.
Sam was mortified because officials thought that he had stolen the cattle from the Meekers but when really Sam was trying to catch the culprits. Sam was hanged for commiting a crime that he didnt do. Sams death was ironic becasue instead of getting captured in the war from the British, Sam got captured and hanged by his own people. No this does not change my opinion on the Civil war because i wouldnt help people that are going to turn their back on me.
Sam got executed because the officials thought that he had stole cattle. What the officials didn't know was that the cattle was really Sam's and he was trying to get it from the thieves that were trying to steal it from his family. Sam's death is ironic because Sam got killed by his own army who he has been fighting with for years. All and all, this does not change my opinion about the Revolutionary war.
Sam dies because he was trying to recover his family's cattle that was stolen from cattle thieves. The cattle thieves accused him of stealing the cattle because the two thieves were trying to get away with it, plus they had two witnesses on their side. Sam's death is ironic because instead of dying from a lobsterback which he was fighting, he died from his own army whom he was fighting with. Yes, my opinion did change about the Revolutionary War because they used their own men to execute just to show an example to the army, and that was unfair to do.
Sam dies, because he was being blamed for stealing the cattle when he was chasing the thief who stole the cattle from Tim and then he got executed for that. Sam's death is ironic, because he didn't steal the cattle and that he was executed as an example for the rest of the army. I think that the revolutionary war is so unfair, because Sam already served for a long time and that he was executed for an example.
Sam got executed because the officials thought he stole the cattle. When sam snuck home they realized someone has stole the cattle, the officials didnt know that here it was their. I think it was ironic because he got killed by his own people and they turned their back on him after years. It kind of changes my opinion on the war cause its wrong how people you have been fightingg for and helping will turn their backs on you.
Sam gets executed because he used to sneak home on occassions to see Tim and his mother. Someone stole Tim's cattle and Sam was going after the theif but the robbery was pinned on Sam. It's Ironic because Sam didn't steal the cattle and he was executed by his own army. It's stupid because he didn't deserve his death and he served for such a long time. This situation does change my opinion about the Revolutionary war because the people back then thought that they could do whatever they want. They were allowed to own slaves and people were executed for basically no reason. Why should we have to work today for jobs and have to worry about money when they were allowed to just sit there and watch somebody else do it. Somebody today can rape 20 people and kill all of them and it may take 15 years for them to get the death penalty because they will be put on death row. Back then they would just shoot them right then and there and it would be over with. Why can't we just do that? It isn't fair how they had certain rights and when they are old and grumpy they change the laws and they want to do something about it after the fact that they did it themselves and they ruin the future for everyone else. They passed the law that they wouldn't use nuclear warheads since the attack on Japan. That isn't fair for the Japanese people that it happened to because after the fact that the U.S. blew up their cities and killed thousands of people they finally realized they were wrong and stopped it. That leaves us with the punishment today because so many men and women fight in the armies and risk their lives and so many of them die fighting for our country. Why can't we just drop a nuclear warhead on Iraq and Afghanistan? We won't have to worry about Osama Bin Laden anymore. He would be dead. Quite franquely, no other country likes the middle east because they see them as a threat to the world so I don't think that any other country would care.
Sam was executed because the officials thought he stole the cattle but the thing thaty they didnt know was that Sam was trying to catch the Culprits.Sams dfeath was ironic because Sam was executed (hung) by his own army the crew he fought by their side with for 2 years.
Sam got executed because he was framed as the thief who stole the cattle. The general wanted to set an example so Sam was brought up to the gallows on the hill and was shot. Sam's death is ironic because instead of being killed by his enemies Sam is killed by the side he is fighting for. This does not change my opinion about wars. In war there are bound to be deaths and crimes no one can stop this unless war is stop forever.
Sam got executed because the unthoughtful officials. When sam snuck home to see his little brother and mom, he knew somebody stole the cattle. So he went and chase after the thieves, but instead the robbery captured him and he was frame as a thief. It's ironic becaues he was commited of stealling his own cattle and was killed by his army. this situation does not change my opinion about the war at all because one or two armies are bad it doesn't mean the whole troop are bad.
Sam is killed by his own army. That's the whole irony concept. He was acccused of stealing cattle from the Meeker family, when he was really trying to find out who really committed the crime. It was simply a misunderstanding. Even though this was a very misunderstood, awful death of Sam, the war was still necessary. We now live in a a free America. =]
